課程概述 |
義肢矯具實務操作，具體測量人體參數和評估，藉此培養臨床決斷能力和獨立完成義肢矯具實務的能力 | |

課程目標 |
The lab is to equip students with various hands-on skills to produce orthoses and prostheses. The involved materials are metals, plastics, laminated composite, plaster, leathers and fabrics. Basic metal work contains cutting, grinding, shaping, contouring, drilling, riveting and polishing. Vacuum forming, trimming, grinding, drilling and shaping are needed for the fabrication process of plastic devices. Lamination is process for making a laminated composite, which allows us to serve more active patients who need stronger material than plastics. Plaster is used to obtain negative and positive moulds and molding, mixing, pouring, filing, and smoothing are necessary to work on plaster. Patterning and sewing are essential for fabrics and leathers. In this lab, students will also study the rationale and technical analysis of each presented devices. The biomechanical principles will be mentioned but the details will be covered in a separate course. | |
